Lino test prints

The first round of test prints for my Lubok book
I'm selecting and figuring out where I have to make changes
and what I still need to make, including finding a title and doing the cover.

In The Studio

My work table.
I am preparing a series of linocuts for a book that will be published by Lubok.
Lubok makes very beautiful books printing directly from the linoleum plates.
There will be 24 pages.
It is a lot of fun work with.
The content is an extension of my two books Natsværmeren & Lyset 1 and 2.

Hallway Mountains

Today when looking in the archive for some older drawings
I stumbled upon these photographs from my studio taken in February 2002
Some time right before my first exhibition at Galleri Susanne Ottesen: Double Paramount
The sculptures in the last image ended up looking great with the snow outside the gallery.
The drawings on the wall behind me in the photograph above
were for two silkscreen print for an exhibition at the Jyväskylä Art Museum in Finland

White upon white upon white...

This is the first full size sketch for a sculpture I'm working on
for the exhibition at Overgaden that opens on the first of April.
It stands a bit over two meter tall.
It has already changed some,
and will appear quiet different but keeping its core shape.

Summer in the studio

Here are some of what I have been up to in this nice warm summer.
Must say I love the Berlin summer, so nice not to be trapped inside with air condition
blasting all day and night because of New York heat and humidity. And not lest
there are no trouble sharing a bottle of wine with a friend in the park
without getting a fine, that has to be part of a good summer.
This is the wall in my studio as it looked last week.
It's all down now, making room for new work.
there are some close ups after the jump

Künstlerhaus Bethanien Open Studio Photographs

I'D Rather Be Chrome. 2013. 21x29,7 cm. Color pencil on paper.

Yesterday was the Open Studios at Künstlerhaus Bethanien.
It was fun, a lot of people came, some I had not seen for years, so it was a great day.

A new studio in a new town

Künstlerhaus Bethanien

I arrived in Berlin a couple of days ago.
Today was my first day in the new studio at Künstlerhaus Bethanien,
I unpacked some materials and the works that I had brought from New York. Then went out to get some paper for doing drawings and watercolors from a shop nearby.
I love being in a new studio, all fresh and empty, I can't wait to start working in there on Monday after picking up more painting supplies.
I have a mountain of ideas for new work.
