A New Print

This is a short video I shot wile I was printing the other day.

Just to try it out.

Camera in one hand, printing with the other one.

Anyway, I thought it is a bit of fun so here it is for all to see

Summer show by the sea

Right now there is a summer exhibition in Birthe Laursen’s house in Gilleleje.
it is a group show with some of the artists she works with.

I will do an artists talk there on Sunday the 21st of July at 14.00

New lino print

I have been printing a lot lately.

Mostly carving new plates and doing test prints of them.

I did find this plate among my older plates and decided to make a small edition of it.

The plate of the woman is from 2012 among the first plates I carved.

I have printed it in an almost black purple

in a small edition of 18.

I printed without a press so they are all a bit different from each other.

Locker Room X-Mas at Charlotte Fogh Gallery

Today is the opening of  the Locker Room X-Mas show at Charlotte Fogh Gallery
They are showing works from they artists the work with,
including my new prints and a cpl of my small watercolours.
It should be fun and there should be glögg at the opening tonight.

New Prints

Some months ago I was in Holstebro

where I printed 6 new lino prints.

They are done on plates I have carved during the last cpl of years.

All done in low editions from 21 to 29.

I still have a large stack of unprinted plates waiting to be printed.

As usually the are available in the Flâneur shop, 

where you can also see each one in detail.

Purple Gold

Today I went to see the test print for my new prints at Schäfer Grafisk Værksted.

We are making two series,

This is the classic women posing series, a spin-off from the Lubok book that is in the works.

They are going to be lavender/purple on gold.

I'm very happy with these.

Michael is a great printer, 

he prints for some artist I like a lot including David Shrigley and Elizabeth Peyton.

No Way Home test prints

I am still finishing the prints for Lubok, wile doing them I did this series called No Way Home.

I still have to decide on the colours before I can do the edition.

Lino test prints

I'm selecting and figuring out where I have to make changes

and what I still need to make, including finding a title and doing the cover.

I am preparing a series of linocuts for a book that will be published by Lubok.

Lubok makes very beautiful books printing directly from the linoleum plates.

There will be 24 pages.

It is a lot of fun work with.

The content is an extension of my two books Natsværmeren & Lyset 1 and 2.

Magenta plains

 I just finished making some test print of  my latest linoleum plates.

I cut a couple of them last night.

Pist Protta 35 at Kunsthal Charlottenborg

Today is the opening of Museum Pist Protta at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen.

They are celebrating the 35th jubilee of the magazine

To those of you who don't know about Pist Protta, it is a very eclectic art magazine, 

that often invites artist to make specific work for the magazine.

The exhibition runs till the 6th of November.

I have made work for a cpl of issues.

This exhibition shows the history of Pist Protta and includes work from a lot of the artist that have been involved.

It also shows early work of the three founders,  some great landscape paintings, the show is a lot of fun and really well installed.

They have one small piece of mine in the exhibition, my copper etching Øl 10 Kr (Beer 10 Crowns)

That I made during the last year of attending the Academy, it was the standard price of a lukewarm beer

 at the openings of all the small artist run spaces at the time, it seems that is still the case today.

If you want to have your own little museum or open up a 10 Kr bar you can get one of the remaining prints in the Flaneur shop

Giant Hogweed

I have been looking in the archives and I have added this print to the store

it is a lithograph I made in 2007 at Edition Copenhagen

It depicts a relaxed picnic in the shadow of a Giant Hogweed

I'm still really pleased with this iris print
