New lino print

I have been printing a lot lately.
Mostly carving new plates and doing test prints of them.
I did find this plate among my older plates and decided to make a small edition of it.
The plate of the woman is from 2012 among the first plates I carved.
I have printed it in an almost black purple
in a small edition of 18.
I printed without a press so they are all a bit different from each other.
If you would like to purchase one
it is available in the Flâneur store

Last Edition

print by Jasper Sebastian Stürup

Galerie Oel-Früh in Hamburg last show was called Last Edition. It was this month on the 7th.
They invited everyone who had shown in the gallery during the seven years it was open.
I did a show there back in 2008 together With Mikkel Olaf Eskildsen called I See Darkness, and I had a flag in their
5-Jahre Oel-Früh: Retrospektive exhibition in 2010.
For their last show they asked everyone to make an edition of 25 in A4 size.
I did a print where I did a different background in watercolor for each print.

Empire EXIT

The view of The Empire State Building with a not so subtle reflection in the window,
reminding me that I'm approaching the last month in New York before going to Berlin
in the beginning of next year.
I took it last night at The Armory Show party for Liz Magic Laser at The Top of The Standard.

The Met and the Cloisters

Yesterday I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art,
to see their great collection of Greek and Egyptian art.
Here are a couple of photographs from there
and two of the view from the Cloisters in Harlem today.

Linolium prints

Right now I have all these linoleum prints on my wall, in the studio.
I am about to make some for a book that will come out next year, published by Lubok.

I did some about a little under a year ago, and thought I better get the hang of it again before doing the ones for Lubok so a made a new batch this week.
The red ones are from last time and the black ones are the new ones, I don't have any plans for them, but they are fun to make.

See pictures of some of them after the jump.

Rainbow Floor

Last time I went to visit the Leo Koenig gallery in Chelsea,
the weather created this great little rainbow on the floor.

Road Tripping 1

Arrived last night after a two day road trip, going from Williamsburg in Brooklyn to the outskirts of Memphis.
I photographed a lot of skies, rain and a burning car on the roadside, on the way there.
The shot above is taken right after leaving, from the Williamsburg Bridge.

Selecting a cover drawing

cover drawing

These days I'm finishing the layout of my book: Written in Fur Drawn in Snow.
The last thing I need to do is the cover. I'm having a drawing stamped in foil on the cover.
The drawing needs thinker lines than I usual use in my drawings.
I'm being indecisive and have made enough drawings for a new small book.
The book will be ready for the NY Art Book Fair in September.
See some details after the jump.
